Leanne please don't allow your dog to be sheared if you are going to show.

I am having trouble logging into the forum, forgot my username and I have sent an email via the link but had no reply, I sent a reply about stripping to someone on the forum, I went into a dog grooming parlor yesterday and asked advice on stripping and I was told that its only really recommended if your going to show the bt as it is similar to plucking eyebrows. I was advised to get my bt clipped but then she also said a good brush would suffice! The parlour I went to charged £30 for a stripping and £25 for clipping

I am sorry to say that the pup has got to be registered to take part in any KC show.
It is usual for to show a male with his crown jewels too, I am afraid, unless it is due to a veterinary problem and getting friendly with a leg is not a problem that the KC would recognise.
However it does not mean that you cannot come along to shows and view or becoming a member of any BT club to take part with any other activities.

Hi I have a lovely 5 and a half month old BT and I am considering entering him in a show when he is a little older and once I have a little more knowledge of what a show entails! Does a show puppy/dog have to be KC registered? Ours isnt but he is a pure border. Also does a male have to be uncastrated? Our dog still has his crown jewels but we are hoping to have him castrated in the next few months as we have 2 children and he has started getting friendly with some adults legs. I think that is the main 2 questions out the way but any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
